We Didn't Die
printer friendlyemail to someone
After 4 weeks of close calls with 1 death to KT last week we finally pulled it off. Big thanks to Liszt who unfortunately couldn't make tonight - sorry you weren't here for the first one, but it just means we do it again.

And now to enter the Twilight Zone.

We Killed Some Stuff
printer friendlyemail to someone
We took our sweet ass time getting to 80 and loved every second of it. I think everyone in the guild can agree this new world order raiding setup is perfect for us. Yeah its easy but who cares... Better than slamming your head in a door for 2 months like the old days. The game is probably the most fun it has ever been for a lot of us.

It was great to pickup where we left off in 40 man Naxxramas and finish what we had started a couple years ago.

Malygos is one of the most interesting and well executed fights we've done in a while... I really enjoyed this encounter and stuff like this gets me really excited for future content.

Time to start achievement whoring and looking forward to Ulduar.

Bears Mounted
printer friendlyemail to someone
Red Gauntlet was able to score several bear mounts prior to 3.0.2 and the first recipient was Kialla. Congrats! All told RG was able to collect 8 Amani War Bears with members using only Karazhan, Badge and Zul'Aman gear.

Thanks to everyone who worked so diligently to see this through:

Persephoni
Liszt
Rent
Kialla
Kestral
Dismal
Bloodyvampir
Captncoke
Rassa

After a whack load of close calls everything finally came together. Things have been pretty crazy around WoW lately, and this is a good start... Took us a while, but we had fun doing it. Let's keep it going.

TBC FTW BBQ
printer friendlyemail to someone
Well, as with almost every guild in TBC our roster has seen some dramatic changes. We have lost some very respected members of the team and they will be greatly missed. It took us a lot longer than we had hoped to iron out a policy for the new raiding setup but we have created something that works and are in action with 3 Karazhan teams running weekly all of them enjoying success. Gruuls Lair is starting up very soon.

<img src = "http://www.redgauntlet.org/images/kara_prog.png">

Update: It is a sad day... Team Rear Admiral has been retired. The officers as a whole feel that while operating 3 teams was a fun challenge, spreading the classes too thinly became very apparent. One person unable to make a raid date for a team could cripple a team for an entire night of progress. Focusing on 2 teams we should quickly clean up the remaining events in Karazhan and we can all move on to the good stuff. This gives us all a lot more breathing room to farm consumables / heroics / reputation as well.

Forming 3 teams that saw success on the Curator and beyond was not an easy task to balance. Thanks to everyone who made this possible.

The Nightmare is Over
printer friendlyemail to someone
Monday night saw us come up slightly short of members at raid time so while we waited for the slackers to get through the queue we decided to try and take down the last remaining World Boss we have yet to kill solo; Lethon. The first pull saw some noob tank turning him opposite to the proper transitions... That didn't go so well. Second pull was flawless and he died.

<center><img src = 'http://www.redgauntlet.org/images/lethon_down.png'/></center>

[item]Staff of Rampant Growth[/item] - Azaris
[item]Belt of the Dark Bog[/item] - Liszt

After Lethon we did a drive-by on Emeriss and by this time we had enough members to continue raiding in Naxx. Thanks everyone for a great time last night and for having so much patience through the patch this week.

Congrats are in order for several members (Jugger, Galthien, Dragonetti, Harmurah, Lovebizcuit, Bupu, Orran and more) who obtained GM weapons through the new Honor System. We have never had a large PVP presence, but this last week has seen an RG preform running pretty much non-stop and doing a very good job losing only a handful of matches. We also found out there are some badass Horde teams out there who showed us we still have a lot to learn (<a href = 'http://www.teamice.org/' target = '_BLANK'>Team Ice</a> from Illidan gets the award for best ass kicking). All-in-all a great week.

Cheers,
Perrin
